Item Youth and Integrity.(KCA University, 2017-11-06) Midamba, Noah. O.Today I would like to speak about becoming men and women of integrity. It is this attribute that often defines the greatness of a man or a woman. People such as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, Pope Francis and Barrack Obama are revered as icons of integrity. These icons are like spiritual magnets. Every time we read about their lives we are drawn to their higher way.Item Enhancing Efficiency and Effectiveness in Public Financial Management(KCA University, 2017-08-24) Midamba, Noah. I am recipient of ten honorary doctorates from top universities in Europe, America, Africa and New Zealand, indeed my own university of California, Irvine, has bestowed on me the University medal, the highest accolade it can give to anybody. I am grateful for all them. But this honor, from KCA, is extra-special. It is honor from home. Not the least of what adds to the grandeur of the moment is the fact that I have received this in the company of my wife, Njeeri, and my children. I wish the entire Thiong’o family were present, but I feel their spirits, the living and those that have passed on. You see, I come from a big family, four mothers, one father, and several siblings. They worked on land, mostly, but in the evening we would gather in any of our mother’s houses, but mostly at Wangarĩ’s, the senior mother, and tell stories. Those that have read my memoir, Dreams in a Time of War, will know how I value those evening sessions; they were formative in my early education and my awareness of the world.Item KCA University 2016 8th Graduation Speech(KCA University, 2016-11-11) Eldon, MikeWhat does it feel like to be graduating from a university whose students have been identified as among the most employable in Kenya? I ask because as many of you are aware, less than two months ago a report was published by the British Council about a study that was carried out from March2013 to February 2016 by the Department of Education of University College London on the employability of graduates of universities in Kenya and in three other African countries. We at KCA University were not altogether surprised to learn from it that, together with Strathmore, our students were rated ahead of those from any other private university in Kenya, and fourth overall in the country.Item The Chancellor’s Graduation Speech.(KCA University, 2016-10) Midamba, NoahIt is gratifying to see all of you gathered here this morning to participate in the 8thgraduation ceremony of the KCA University.
